Happy Birthday soon to be BIL

My sister first made all sorts of requests for her fiance’s birthday. It started with a basketball cake and then she changed her mind and asked for a wine bottle cake. Basketball and wine are his passions and she wanted to incorporate it into his cake.

In the end she decided on a simple vanilla cake and left it up to me to design it. I made two layered 8 inch vanilla bean cake and frosted with a vanilla bean coffee scented buttercream. Drizzled chocolate ganache completed the look.

Full Moon Cuppies

I love it when clients make it easy for me. This particular lady wanted to deliver six dozen cupcakes to her fellow colleagues and her only request was chocolate and red velvet with cream cheese and everything else was left up to me.

The greeting card was designed and made by me personally. I just love Memories Suite!

Simple and chic can never go wrong. ๐Ÿ™‚

Miss Neo

I absolutely adore this cake! When I first saw it on I Am Baker’s blog I fell instantly in love. Its simple, easy and so gorgeous to look at. This was an 8 inch three layered cake made out of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. Piping roses couldn’t be any easier and the result is so elegant. Perfect for a birthday, a bridal shower or just to surprise someone you love. ๐Ÿ™‚

Breaking Bad

This was by far the most interesting order I ever had. My client wanted to surprise his wife for her 30th birthday and came up with a very unique idea for a cake. They are huge fans ofย  Breaking Bad and you guessed it, he wanted a cake with stuff that resembled the ‘stuff’ from the show. He wanted it messy and textured and most importantly a very fun and unconventional cake.

It was a simple two layered 6 inch vanilla cake tinted blue and frosted with a textured vanilla buttercream. I finished off the cake with some sugar blue crystals that I found at the baking shop and voila!

His wife was absolutely ecstatic about the cake! They even dressed up as the characters from the show but I won’t show you that out of respect for their privacy. ๐Ÿ˜‰

A Baby and An Elephant

A client of mine approached me not long after I had posted up my blog entry on the ombre blue ruffle cake. Linda wanted to celebrate her son’s full moon celebration with the same beautiful cake but with some slight changes.

Like the previous one, it was an 8 inch four layered checkerboard lemon and chocolate cake frosted with cream cheese in between with a lemon buttercream icing. For a slight twist we added a blue elephant to the bottom of the cake and swapped the ombre from light to dark instead of dark to light.

I’m dying to make a pink baby shower cake! Any takers out there?? ๐Ÿ™‚

Baby Isaac’s Full Moon

Nothing beats having a cupcake from a full moon goodie bag especially if you live in this side of the world. For baby Isaac’s full moon gathering, his mummy requested for 120 cupcakes together with greeting toppers for the guests. It was a mammoth of an order but I was up for the challenge!

For the cupcake flavours, we decided on lemon with a tiffany blue lemon buttercream together with a chocolate cupcake topped with an army green vanilla buttercream. I finished off the look with homemade toppers and packaged them into pretty boxes.IMG_7880IMG_7593 IMG_7597 IMG_7603 IMG_7627 IMG_7629

Pretty cute a for a little baby boy. ๐Ÿ™‚

Apologies!

Hello everyone! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Apologies for the long overdue updates! Seraphina’s has been quite busy during the last quarterย  of this year and together with my mama role I’ve been busy with end of year school concerts and schedules and yada yada yada. I also recently acquired a gorgeous new camera so my pictures are going to be bigger and better then ever before.

Here’s to more more beautiful creations! Thanks to all for supporting Seraphina’s!

The Simple Pleasures in Life

This was for a client of mine who wanted cupcakes for one of dearest friend’s birthday. It was a very simple request of one dozen cupcakes with chocolate and lemon flavour and the important part of the order…….nothing too girlish or pink!

I decided to frost the cupcakes with chocolate buttercream and an army green lemon buttercream finished off with pearl dragees on top. They hadย  also requested for a tier to display the cupcakes and so I made my own tier once again with an 8 Inch and 6 inch cake circle with pretty wrapping paper.

I know they said nothing girly but I couldn’t help but throw in a pretty greeting topper and a pink polka dot candle! Seraphina’s always needs a touch of girly. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Happy Birthday once again Sisca! xx
